Week 14

Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project

Theme: "Urban"

Each week a group of professional pet photographers band together & challenge themselves to create new images based on a common theme. These images are then shared in each photographers blog (on Fridays). A "blog circle." is formed as each photographer links to another member's blog at the bottom of their post. If you love looking at beautiful pet photographs be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post and click the link to take you to the next very talented photographer. Keep going until you land back here and you will have come full circle!

This week we were charged with finding photographic possibilities in our cities and urban areas. It was a challenge getting out due to our weather! Rain, rain, rain, snow showers and gale force winds! Ah, spring time in Indiana! If I truly wanted impactful images with tall buildings I would have travelled the 40 minute commute into downtown Indianapolis. The unpredictable, inclement weather pushed me to look for opportunity in the city of Carmel IN where we live. Teddy & I ventured out midweek between thunder storms. Don't quote me on the dates but I believe it was 2014/15 that Carmel commissioned a number of bronze statues that were installed on and around Main Street. We decided to check some of them out and incorporate them in our photographs.... until the skies opened up again and we high tailed it home!

"There, Now You Can Grow"

"Ambassador of the Street"

"Holding Out"

"Confirming Predictions"

Apparently there are about a dozen or so of these lifelike everyday Americans going about their business in the Art & Design District around Main street, we only saw a few! (The captions below each of these photographs are the actual titles of the pieces given by the sculptor).

Now lets head over to see the Urban views of Kelly Garin Photography, Columbia, SC

Until next week,

These are fantastic! What a fun location to do this week's post. I love the last one of Teddy sitting on the bench with the "man reading the newspaper" statue. He looks like he's having the best time! LOVE!
It seems you have the same problems with weather as I did, as Cincinnati isn't that far away. LOL! I think I need to visit Carmel, what an interesting Downtown Area with those unique sculptures. I love how each one was able to assist you by holding Teddy's leash. So fun!
wow wow wow, I love these statues how awesome and how creative to capture your dog with them. Great work !!!

Oh my, what a fantastic location!! I'm pretty sure my dog would be freakd out by those statues, haha!
What a fantastic location! These statues are awesome. Your first photo captured my heart immediately. But every photo tells a story. Nicely done!
